Learn more about our wonderful employee Robyn Gatz!
Robyn is bright and joyful, both of which make her the perfect fit for Hope Blooms. She manages our day-to-day operations, including managing floral donations, organizing arranging events, working with the 30-plus organizations that receive donated bouquets, helping with administrative work and keeping our shop in tip-top shape.
Her special qualities include putting together rad music playlists, always being up for an adventure especially if it involves warm weather and holding numerous yoga poses for extended periods of time.
Robyn was born and raised in West Fargo. Though now she lives in Fargo with her husband, Colin, two-year-old son, Camden, and two corgis, Yoda and Luna. She has a business management degree from NDSU, GO BISON! She worked in the beverage wholesale industry for more than six years before joining Hope Blooms.
When she’s not at Hope Blooms you can find her teaching yoga classes at Mojo Fit Studios or in line getting coffee at Starbucks.
Why did you apply to work with Hope Blooms?
I was looking for an opportunity that provided some flexibility for my family. The part-time hours are a huge help with a busy schedule of a two-year-old and also my yoga schedule. I wanted to do something that spoke to my heart and sparked some passion back in my life. Hope Blooms has provided all of these things, and I could not be more grateful.
What’s your favorite flower and why?
I love tulips! My Grammy and Pop used to grow them outside their home, so they remind me of family and fun. The bright colors also remind me of my personality.
Why is giving back in your community important to you?
I enjoy living in the Fargo-Moorhead community because I feel like it’s the biggest “little” town with lots of opportunities. The community supports those who live here through the good and the bad times. I want to give back to those who supported me and continue to create a special place for little ones who are growing up in our community.
What’s your favorite way to spread joy?
It’s the simple acts that mean the most in my opinion. A smile, wave, asking someone how their day is going or buying a coffee for someone behind you can add that little something extra to someone’s day who needs it. I love connecting with people!
Name one of the most joyful moments in your life.
My most joyful moment was marrying my husband on a beach in Mexico. The sun was shining, and we were surrounded by close family and friends. We partied all night, and our faces hurt from smiling and laughing the entire time.
What’s something no one would ever guess about you?
I am the BIGGEST Michael Jackson fan and have been since birth (so I’m told by my parents)! I even have a MJ tattoo on my left ankle that I got on the one-year anniversary of his death.
What’s your favorite quote?
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” – Nelson Mandela
When you’re not spreading joy with Hope Blooms, how do you spend your time?
You will usually find me with my family, doing yoga, have drinks with friends or supporting another local nonprofit, FM Raise Your Spirits.
